Welcome to Cafe At Cedars!

 Thank you for allowing me to share my passion for fine foods with you, your friends, and your family.   I say my passion but I really mean our passion because at Cafe At Cedars we are all passionate about fine foods.       

Every meal is prepared by hand, to order, primarily from raw ingredients, in our on-site kitchen.  Only the finest, freshest  ingredients  are served including name brand products such as Jail Island Salmon and Black Angus Beef.  Daily specials always include unique freshwater or saltwater fish. I normally use organic produce and local purveyors to insure consistent quality. 

My approach is to blend freshness with intense flavors.  I accomplish this with sauces fashioned from beef, fish, poultry, and vegetable stocks (fume’ and broths) which are infused with herbs, olive oils, wines, or distilled spirits.  Aioli’s are normally mayonnaise based though some are soy-based.  I  use a blend of canola and  organic extra virgin olive oil for sautéed and pan seared menu items.  Our Brown Rice Pilaf is gluten free and we have gluten free pasta available. 

2% milk or soy milk are used as bases in soups and as flavoring in sauces (heavy cream or butter are rarely used).  For most menu items I add a “scant” of kosher salt and pepper grind – the least amount possible for taste.  I can satisfy most dietary restrictions at your request.   

The presentation of every meal is carefully considered with a gourmet eye and every plate is garnished with organic greens.   

For dessert all bets are off – yes, there will be a healthy dessert item on the menu but the fact is the best desserts are decadent and decadence is not fat free.
